County Golf Courses Opening And Reserve Dates Set

White Plains, NY - Five of Westchester’s six golf courses will open on Wednesday, March 17, weather and conditions permitting.

Courses are Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake in Yonkers, Hudson Hills in Ossining, Maple Moor in White Plains and Mohansic in Yorktown Heights. An improvement project at Saxon Woods in Scarsdale, may delay that course’s opening.

Tee time reservations are available beginning Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. by calling (914) 995-GOLF (4653) or online at www.westchestergov.com/golf “Online Tee Time Reservations” link.

This year’s greens fees include a $3 increase necessary to provide the same quality services and conditions county courses are known to offer. Greens fees for 18 holes with a Westchester County Park Pass are as follows: weekends and holidays, $32; weekdays, $28; seniors and juniors (weekdays only) $21. Greens fees without a park pass are as follows: weekends and holidays, $42; weekdays, $38. Twilight, super twilight and nine-hole discounts are available. Golf cart fees are separate. Fee structure for Hudson Hills is available online and does not include an increase in 2010.

E-Z Reserve applications will be accepted at courses beginning Saturday, March 6. Saturday times will be sold beginning at 8 a.m. and Sunday times beginning at 10 a.m. or at the completion of Saturday sales. Any remaining tee times can be purchased anytime thereafter.

The E-Z Reserve program enables golfers with a Westchester County Park Pass to block out a regular starting tee time for a period of 25 weeks. Saturday tee times start April 10 and Sunday tee times start April 11.

E-Z Reserve fee of $250 per player is due when tee times are assigned. Greens fees are paid at check-in each week. Payment can be made with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. E-Z Reserve times are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. One tee time per park pass holder.

Substitute players are allowed on the day of play and provided for by golfers. Fees are non-refundable. Cancellations must be made at least two days in advance via the telephone reservation system. If players fail to show up on any operating day and the tee-time cannot be resold, golfers will be charged lost greens fees to be paid on the next round. Failure to pay will result in the loss of E-Z Reserve privileges.
